The 5 BEST TAILGATING BEERS

Football season is the best time for tailgating. So, whether you’re a fan of college, pro or high school football, this means you’re going to be doing some tailgating with family and friends. Nothing like having a cold brewsky at your football game tailgate!

But here’s the thing, you got to have the right beer!

Since you will be drinking for few hours before the game, I have put together a list of beers that will keep you energize and ready for the action when the game starts. Most of the beers I have chosen have a low alcohol content.  All you need to do is buy the beer. Here’s the list of the five beers you need to put in your cooler before you head to the game!

 

HEY MAN BLONDE ALE– Oconee Brewing Company

This easy drinking, light, smooth, and refreshing beer brewed by Oconee Brewing Company is number one on my list. Hey Man Ale was inspired by OBC and 92.9 the Game Sports Show in Atlanta,GA.  The alcohol content is 5.0 percent. Your friends will love this beer and you will be the talk of the day at your tailgate with a 6 or 12 pack of HEY MAN at a Georgia Bulldog or Atlanta Falcons game for sure. This beer is a new comer on the market but I believe it is the most approachable and enjoyable beer to have at your tailgate.

SAMUEL ADAMS – Boston Beer Company

Samuel Adams is a great tailgate beer.  It has a distinctive taste and a smooth finish. Probably the best lager season round.  This beer has an amazing flavor of spicy hops, slightly sweet roasted malts, and alcohol of 5.0 percent.  it’s the perfect accompaniment to a game of corn hole.

CORONA  – Crown Imports

CORONA EXTRA ,the name speaks for itself. This lager pilsner beer is great tailgate beer.  Pilsners are great for tailgating because they not only have a low AVB but they’re also refreshing, perfect for quenching your thirst on a hotter day. The alcohol content is only 4.6 percent.  Brewed in Mexico since 1925, this bottled beer offers a flavor that’s smooth, refreshing and balanced between heavier European imports and lighter domestic beers. Crisp, clean and well balanced between hops and malt, this cerveza has a superior taste profile from superior ingredients – the finest-quality blend of filtered water, malted barley, hops, corn and yeast.

GOOSE ISLAND – Goose Island Beer Company

GOOSE ISLAND IPA  is a flagship IPA and great tailgate beer.  It’s a  traditional English Style beer with full of flavor. The alcohol content is 5.9 percent which by far is the highest on my list but it has an awesome bright citrus aroma and a bold hop finish. So, when you are just wanting to have a relaxing drink sitting outside watching your friends play tailgate games and barbeque, this beer is for you. Your friends will love this special IPA beer for years to come.

 

SOUTHERNALITY– Slow Pour Brewing

SOUTHERNALITY  is great for tailgating. In the south, tailgating is to the extreme, and this local craft beer in my Lawrenceville,GA community has become a big favorite of mine! This IPA has just the right amount of hopp-y-ness with a down-home easy sippin’ style. The alcohol content is 5.2 percent. It’s also a perfect day drinking beer as well. I believe this IPA should be recognized as the official beer of the SEC!

STELLA ARTOIS – Import Brands Alliance

STELLA ARTOIS   is a great for tailgating. With its wonderful floral aroma, well-balanced malt sweetness, crisp hop bitterness, and a soft dry finish, Stella Artois is the perfect beer to pair with food and friends at a football game. Alcohol content is 5.0 percent. Last year winner of the World Beer Award for World’s Best International Lager.
